Two people were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a microbus and a pick-up van in Alinagar area at Budhanti union under Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on Friday morning.

The identities of the deceased and injured could not be known yet.

The Sylhet-bound microbus collided with the pick-up carrying the victims coming from opposite direction on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at 9:30am, leaving two passengers of the pick-up dead on the spot and three others injured, said Atikur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bijoynagar police station.

Later, the injured were rushed to Madhabpur Upazila Hospital in Habiganj district, he said.

The OC also said police are trying to identity the victims.
